After being asked several years ago to mediate a case by a local attorney due to him knowing “both sides of the docket”, David Kerby, has now successfully mediated dozens of cases for attorneys he has litigated against, litigated with and never met.
David’s practice of representing both plaintiffs and defendants in his areas of practice gives him insight into helping the litigants understand the obstacles and work towards a resolution of a dispute. An active trial practice allows David to stay connected with the venues and obstacles faced by the parties.
Having had the opportunity to mediate with many great mediators during his career, David has taken the things that seem to work the best and put them to good use: Listen, Don’t be afraid to be out of the box, Don’t just carry numbers, Charge a fair value and Don’t give up.
David regularly mediates across West Texas with a primary focus in Lubbock. Kerby & Wade, P.C. has multiple conference rooms that allow for a mediation involving up to five parties to be comfortable.
